You now have beautiful semi-permanent lashes that would be impossible to achieve with eye makeup alone. Below is aftercare tips to help you maintain your new lash extensions as long as possible.
*Do not go in a hot tub or sauna, apply mascara or eye cream for the first 24 hours or the glue may not properly cure. *Do not use oil based makeup remover or heavy creams around your lashes. This will weaken the glue bond.
*If you must wear mascara, do not use waterproof mascara. Typically it will be oil based and very difficult to remove from your lashes.
*Wash your lashes every night with a gentle foam cleanser made for Lash Extensions or TheraLid Eyelid Cleanser or another oil free eye make-up remover. For a more thorough cleansing, use a mascara spoolie or a soft bristle brush with a foam cleanser and brush the soap into the lashes to help remove mascara or heavy eyeliner.
*Use a clean mascara spoolie to help with styling the lash extensions. Fluffing up the lashes after washing them will help them, so they don't dry sticking together.
*Do NOT try to cut, dye, perm or use a clamp style eyelash curler or the glue bond or natural lash will break. You may be able to request a curlier extension at your next fill.
*Try not to rub or pull at your eyelash extensions. This will either pluck out your natural eyelash (and take several weeks to regrow) OR prematurely break the glue bond. If you want them removed, please book in for professional Removal here at The Silver Filament or at any Lash studio.
*Try to treat your extensions gently as if, you have makeup you do not want to smudge.
*Know that sleeping on your side or stomach may cause you to lose more extensions on one eye than the other.
*We all lose a couple natural lashes every day and this is normal. *Return every 2-4 weeks for a Fill. The longer you go without a fill the more time will be needed at your Fill appointment. If you wait too long, a new Lash Set may be needed.
